19th November 2021: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the much-awaited bill to repeal the three farm laws was announced by the Prime minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Addressing the nation, the Indian PM’s announcement also mentioned that the government could not explain the law benefits to the farmers. He further added- the repeal of the concerned three farm laws would be best for both interests.

Along with the announcement, he urged all the protestors to end the protest and return home. This announcement shall potentially end a year-long farmer protest at the Delhi borders, which was reported to be the world’s largest farmer protest. But what is the current status of the bill?

Why Did The Farmers Protest?

The highlighted year-long protest revolved around farmers and the Indian government, wherein about 40 farmer unions were standing against the introduced reform and were demanding the annulment of the same to the Indian government and the concerned authorities.
