History Of Marine National Park

Marine National Park in the Gulf of Kutch is located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Kutch in the Devbhumi Dwarka district of Gujarat state, India. Established in 1980, it initially covered 270 km2 from Okha to Jodiya and was declared a Marine Sanctuary. Later, in 1982, a core area of 110 km was designated as a Marine National Park under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 of India. The park comprises 42 islands along the Jamnagar coast, many of which are surrounded by reefs.
